Day 4 - Christmas Eve
Today was a mixed bag. This morning, the scale showed a MASSIVE drop in weight... i weighed in 3 lbs lower than yesterday- my lowest weight in more than 5 years. That's the good... now comes the not so good. Today was Christmas Eve and we had our family over for Christmas dinner like we do every year. The problem is that Keto is not compatible with a Christmas dinner. Things on the table that didn't work for me included sugar glazed ham, stuffing, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, Hawaiian rolls, fruit salad, mac-n-cheese, pies, cookies & candies. That left me with green bean casserole, salad and turkey. My plate and my palate were both sad... to say i was disappointed would be gravely understating my emotion. To be entirely transparent and document everything, i did cheat today. :-( I had about 2 Tbsp of mashed potatoes and 2 Tbsp of stuffing with gravy + 1 oz of chocolate brittle and 1/2 a cookie- because it is Christmas. I only ate a fraction of what i might otherwise eat.... but to leave it lonely would have created emotions of bitterness and resentment toward Dr Buckley and the clinic, and they are too nice for me to be angry with them. :-)
